Mark Lindsay

Key components to Marks coaching philosophy include instilling the right balance of hard work, discipline and having fun. Marks coaching style focuses on finding a balance of strong work ethic, player accountability, team play and sportsmanship. With practices being built around advanced hockey skills including player skill development, conditioning and team systems.  Mark grew up playing minor hockey in West Kelowna until he was 15 years old when he started his junior career in Sicamous before going on to play for numerous Junior teams.  Mark was drafted into the WHL in 1999 by the Seattle Thunderbirds. After his Junior career Mark then played 3 years in the minor professional ranks before finding his passion in coaching.

Clay Simmons, Club Head Coach

Clay has completed many certifications throughout his coaching career. Clay incorporates coaching psychology and philosophies that were taught to him in combination with key elements from his training and experience and applying these tools where the players will get the most benefit an enjoy their team experience

  • Played for Penticton Panthers18-20 (switched half way through 18 year old season to defense)
  • Captain of All-Star team and still hold record for fastest skater in BCHL.
  • Earned a division 1 scholarship
  • Named first team All-Star 3 years in a row

Larry Marshall
Head Coach 07’s

Experience & Credits

Larry played hockey most of his life going through the minor levels, with one year in the Ontario Junior League then College.

He is a fully certified Level 2 coach through Hockey Canada and Canadian Lacrosse coaching certification programs with 16 years coaching experience in Minor Hockey and Lacrosse.  Eight of those years were coaching hockey at the rep level from Atom through Bantam and Lacrosse at the rep level from Novice through Bantam.

Michele posses 2 Bachelor Degrees – Psychology & Social Work

Over the past 33 years, Michele has taught approximately 10,000 students at various hockey schools throughout Canada and US.

In 2005 Michele completed the Quantum Speed Apprenticeship Program taught by NHL Powerskating Instructors Steffany Hanlen and Vanessa Hettinger.  Most recent graduates of the program are now working with Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Michele has been privileged to have worked with NHL players – Cliff Ronning, Lyle Odelien, Martin Gelinas, Trevor Linden, Richard Brodeur, BJ McDonald, Dennis Pollonich and NHL coaches – the late Wayne Fleming, Richard Preston and Barrie Trotz.

Michele worked with 5 members of last season’s (2015) Okanagan Rockets – bronze medal winners at the Telus Cup.  This past spring and summer Michele trained WHL drafts – Jonathan Smart, Matt Alcorn and Trevor Gulenchyn.  Junior Players – Thomas Pattison, Kelsey Byrne, Drayton Martin and Cory Santoro plus many PeeWee, Bantam and Midget Rep players.

Michele takes pride in providing young players with the proper foundation for skating – a solid stance and effective edge use.

Chad Carder

I grew up playing minor hockey in Calgary AB till the age of 16. I played 4 years of JR A hockey in Olds AB and Grande Prairie AB, where I was selected to the all star team 3 times winning top goalie twice. In 2009 I was named AJHL Goalie of the year and Won a AJHL Championship.

This will be my 8th year as a goalie coach, I am currently working with Hockey Canada Skills Academy, Glenrosa Middle School Academy, WKMH Association, KMH Association, and Vernon Minor Hockey. I also work with the Kelowna Chiefs Jr B, and am in my 7th year as a JR A Goalie coach, 3 of which were with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL and am in my 4th year with West Kelowna Warriors where we won the RBC Cup last year.
